Good morning/afternoon/evening, y’all…just wanted to jot down a little note to let you know that my tribute to Malcolm X is up on the blog and links are available everywhere! This is not a booty shaking, beat driven escapade. This is jazz driven. This is knowledge driven.

I initially meant to throw some sound bytes to some music, but after ideas started demanding a stage, this project took on a life of it’s own. I meant to have this on Malcolm’s birthday, but what I had in mind proved to be too overwhelming…but it had to be done, so I just took my time and did it right…

This isn’t so much a mix, as it is a journey – this mix tells a story. A movie for your ears, if you will. I have taken liberal chunks of the documentary “Make It Plain”. This documentary was created and released in 1993-94 and is narrated by Alfre Woodard. It has commentary from notable figures in the black community such as Maya Angelou, Sonia Sanchez, Dr. John Henrik Clarke, and Alex Haley. This audiography is also augmented with various speeches that I am blessed to have in order to tell this story. Lots of things have been left out, but I’m hoping it will still serve it’s purpose.

So. I hope you like it, however, to be perfectly honest – if no one heard this but me, it would be one of my favorite mixes! It’s a mix that is done more for me than you, LOL…however, I likes to share – so enjoy!
